DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE A LITTLE BLUEBIRD AT OUR HOUSE ?

A little song bird .....actually!

There are moments in life that really do make me melt!!

I love my little blue bird (his favorite color is blue.... b/c his name starts with b-b B too:)

OUR "TRIPLET" as we call him.

HE is gentle and sweet....and stinkin' smart!

He is the one, who if he needs something, patiently ...yet relentlessly.... ever so gently- rubs my leg or arm until I say "yeeesssss".......

Hmmm.....as I am thinking on him he is also the one who interrupts the most too! (still working on that:)

He is the one who you will hear encouraging his big brother and big sisters happily... and helping along his little brothers.

He is always ready to give me a full report on any "violated abbey household rules" BUT HE ALWAYS HAS TO WHISPER THEM ??....MOM, they ran ...MOM, they hit and that's not being loving...MOM, they're not sitting, and that is very dangerous!...MOM she made her grumpy face at me and we are not supposed to make grumpy faces b/c it hurts feelings ......you get the point:)

He is the one who who is either happily humming or crying b/c his feelings got hurt -or one of the twins hurt him ( he seems to only have those two channels).....

He is the one who loves to play alone ..He actually asks for his "alone" time....he loves to not have to share the trains!

He is the one who always uses his manners!

He is the one who daily tells me ~I am his best mommy!

He is the one !!!!

~who we prayed for on purpose !! ......a brother with blue eyes (to match his biggest sissy- b/c everyone else had brown and green eyes) and I threw in there with curly hair and a sweet temperament!

HE IS OUR baby boy complete answer to that prayer!!

HEY MOM LOOK WHAT I ......

Picture this.....the twins are down for naps~ songs have been sung.... sippee cups have been filled..... babies have been requested to snuggle with.... and up and down the stairs we have gone!!!......kisses have been administered..... doors shut ....fans on to block out noise .....and phew~ peace!!!!

The oldest two are out for their "recess break" on a bike ride to get mom a Starbucks......Mr.Preschool and Miss. Grade 1 are quietly working on fine motor skills snipping away at the craft table....

I may just have my brain to myself for -at the most- a whole 5 minutes!!

OH YES now that is something to get excited about !!!.....ahhh utter bliss ..... AS i am sweeping from the mad lunch rush...... under the table .....around the chairs.... on the chairs .......

I hear MR.Preschool proudly announce ""HEY MOM LOOK WHAT I SNIPPED!"

I quickly turned around to see what he was so thrilled with himself for and.........

OOPS!!!

What's the lesson here to learn for today mom ?!

Oh well at least it was only his hair !lol

A DAY OUT WITH THOMAS THE TRAIN

The girls found other girlie things to do on the train he-he

And then the ride was done and we were back at the station….. I love that we took up that whole bench!

We found TOBY the train too ! …..(see dads hand ready to catch!)

THE TWINS NEW BABY SISTER!!!

OH MY WORD!!!! HOW CUTE IS HE- HEY!!

He he ....Did i get you?

OH!

I would be soo HAPPY !

BUT alas it is "big our daddies" final say in that matter... being that he is the leader and all ( and i am happy to follow him wherever he will go )

...SO this "sister" will have to do ....

and they don't seem to mind!
They LOVE this doll ..she cries and laughs they love her so much they even SHARE her !!

Are these cute or what!? The girls are making their own doll house furniture! Next comes the actual doll house!
The project manager and her little assistant..i love it when i can find things they both LOVE to do as sisters where the age gap doesn't matter.

And this guy of mine loves these projects as much as the girls...they have boats and trains and animals.....everything ! They come with little tiny pieces of sand paper and you have to sand the corners of each piece down until they fit into place it like a fun puzzle...and they are cheap too !!

This one was in the discount section at Micheal's Craft store for 3 bucks! Hours of fun for only 3 bucks! And now my "cool" son like to go for our dates to the craft store too ..he he

FRUIT LOOP MATH?????

If only MY grade one teacher had taught me regrouping ~with fruit loops!!

I just may have become the astronaut i dreamed of.....(this is a very funny joke to those of you who know me well -lol)

We have been having fun doing "grouping" and skip counting with fruit loops!

Mr .grade 3 has learnt how to do multiplication and division and Miss grade 1 is doing her adding and next week..Subtracting!

It works ... who would have thought ? ...my kids call it FUN math!! AND they work hard at it too because when they are done they get to eat 'em!

"POM POM" FEVER!!!

Ever wondered what you could do with those colorful pom poms ???

Let my kids show you!

You can stir them and make soup with your littlest brother..isn't he a great big bro !

Make them rain down while you giggle..over and over again

Scoop them with your new shovel...and color group them in your stacking cups (yellow)

OR Drive them in your jeep!

WHO NEW???? The hours of fun pom poms could provide!

I originally bought these pom poms as crafts for the girls..BUT I cannot get over HOW much everyone loves the things... the little boys do ! ...the ones who don't sit still!?

We use them now for counters- and fine motor skills- sorting -color identification- crafts- you name it- we do it!!.... glue 'em -scoop 'em- group 'em-...and as always we have to learn to share with them.

It's pom pom fever at our house!

A DAY in the Life of a homeschooler.....scratch that... ...Let's just start with {A MORNING!!}

Here they come.........










To home school... or not to home school... that was THE question for us over the last 2 years....and the final answer is....... !...........TO HOME SCHOOL!

For those of you who did not know... we pulled the kids home from school after spring break and two years at a private christian school and back to "Abbey Academy".


Oh I missed my kids while they were at school!!
It broke my heart sending my baby girl to kindergarten!! IT is my favorite grade to teach!!

I am one happy mama now with all my troops home with me!


Where they will stay (unless!!! we have another set of twins :)

We are busy busy and thought you might like to see WHY??!!


So many of you have said you don't know how we do it ..and there are days we don't know either!

BUT we do know this !!!

It is only by God's grace that this works and only b/c it is what HE wants us to do !!

We know it is not for everyone!!

HE gives his grace to us in LARGE deposits hourly!

AND ..now... you can see...just how good HE IS to me!!

PART ONE

A typical morning looks like this.... wake up.. make beds... help your younger "roommate" make their bed...get dressed help your little roommate get dressed....do your hair...help them do their hair ...While mom wrestles the two 40 lbs twins down to brush teeth shower change and dress:)... then down for breakfast served by the best boy breakfast team "00-2 and 00-4"....then after yummy crock pot oatmeal ..yep that's right!! Crock pot oatmeal !! Anything to save time and super easy for the boy team to serve to us all.. top with a bit of fruit and EAT!

Then it is onto breakfast clean-up ...everyone has a job.

Then calendar/ devotion time with all the Little's and the Big's. (..still in their jammies today )... Ahh the beauty of Monday's at home school .....>SO NICE!!....{we got dressed after devotion/calendar time}

I found these great pillows for them to sit on from Pottery Barn. They only go up to number 4 though, so the older two sit on a chairs behind the four "Little's" who need to be front and center. They each have their own number so they know where their bums need to be and stay he he..now i know why preschool starts at 3 years old and not 2!

These 2 are now very 2 !!

Oh MY IT'S JUNE !!!!!!!!
