Ample Abbeys: May 2013

This week we finished up our Space Unit, we wrote up our good copies on each of the Planets. As well, we covered some deep space topics such as comets, meteorites,asteroids, constellations,galaxies, the life cycle of a star, and star mapping, with the Big Dipper and North Star.

She loved looking at these awesome books we picked up at the Homeschool Conf. last weekend..it is SO nice to have Creation as at the beginning of these books as opposed to an Evolutionary perspective !

the pictures from N.a.s.a’s telescopes are fantastic in these books!

What a Creator HE IS !

The night Sky Sicker book from Usborne was a big hit too!

You have to match stickers to all the constellations as well as the planets and other wonderful things like a Moon Halo, The Aurora Lights and Magellanic Clouds!

We also did this neat little project where you push pin all the “Stars” by way of holes

and then hold the paper up to a light ..

they took it in the bathroom and turned out the lights with a flash light too :)…little over kill

Mr. K is asking for things to do here so I am starting this cute little Picture project with him from Sarah Cooley.

And then to put in it, and ….In honor of my K’s dentist appointment coming up next week ! We did a mini unit by Sarah Cooley…{she makes my life SO much easier!}
