A day at Aldor Acres Pumpkin Patch!

 

The big kids took off with our babysitter and our biggest sister  and we saw glimpses of them here and there…. while we tried to track the triplets and keep them together ! It was sooooo busy !

In the barn there is so much to see!!

At the top of the hay stack there is a great view of the hay ride passing by outside! 

There were baby piggies to pet ! Llamas, Horses, 7 ft tall Cows, Kittens, Chickens and their tiny peeping Chicks, Goats, and Geese and Ducks and Turkeys……

And Bunnies to hold -even new bunnies to see that had been born that morning with no fur on them !

MISS GRADE ONE  was NOT into touching them! …. or getting dirty….so she used her boots to push any possible choices over. (she forgot her coat and had to borrow one of the triplets:)

She chose this one b/c it had a chunk of dirt on the back of it with WORMS in it ! She thought that was fantastic  !

And the BEST BIG SISTER  in the world helped her buddy find one that wasn’t bigger than his face:)

 

We drove the hay ride back to the car lot… stripped all those mucky little boys down to their ginchies, and had a fresh baked pumpkin muffin for the ride home!

It was a great day …and we all left with happy hearts…..

~ I am so THANKFUL  for MY HUSBAND and his big heart…….. thankful that he loves to spend time with his children making wonderful memories  !

SOOO MANY Things To Be Thankful For !

 

Oh how I enjoy my Thanksgiving decorations that come out on the first day of Fall !

The kids had so much fun this year decorating with our fake leaves- they were everywhere!

Our favorite family tradition to celebrate Fall is going to Starbucks for a yummy treat and their hot apple cider!

( I forgot to bring the camera –stinker ! )

This year I also bought from Pottery Barn Kids this GREAT count down calendar that arrived here just in time for October 1st.

I Loved the simple “give thanks” phrase on it…. without any other silly “turkey” decor.

I am the type of mom who does not celebrate the turkey, or the pilgrims at Thanksgiving …but I try my very best to point my family to the ONE who we receive ALL good things from!

At Christmas the honor goes to the one whom the honor is due. We learn about advent and the richness of the Christmas Season and baby Jesus - not the fat man in the red suit.

At Easter again, it is all about Jesus and what He did for us - not what the white bunny left or chocolate eggs combined.

I am so impressed by the things the kids are coming up with for our Thanksgiving count-down tree, that I have decided to keep the tree up in the school room all year round!

Last night Mike did our family devotions on 1Thessalonians 5 :18 - straight to the point !

~ IN EVERYTHING give THANKS for this IS His WILL for you!

The one thing Mike was really working on with the kids was how this plays over into our attitudes, not JUST the things we say …do we choose to have thankful attitudes? ..b/c we do have the choice!

Our spirits emanate to others through our attitudes, whatever is truly going on in our thoughts and hearts. I think others are sometimes more aware of what is in us than we are!

OH DEAR !  I have some work to do ! I have gotten myself into quite slump over the last two years –…which have been the hardest and most humbling of my life-…none the less!!! My attitude really stinks some days!

When I am tired b/c I was up in the night with babies….. and I have spent all morning breaking up toddler fights -between the cranky people who woke me up in the night …..while I am trying to teach four different grades …..while II am still waiting for my coffee to kick in…..and while I am trying keep up with the house work so my dh has clean socks….it is hard to not think that I would just like them to play nice~ for just one day !!!! … or just go back to sleep when they wake up in the night… so I don’t have to start my days tired…..ect ect -instead of choosing to be thankful THAT ……

I GET to be HOME to teach and train them and their BIG personalities- instead of a strange daycare worker !

I  >>>>am the one who gets to kiss the owies better that they give to each other….

I ! >>>am the one they call to at night.. I am “mommy”~ that IS the best name in the WHOLE world !

I >>>>get to teach them to read ~and write ! 

I >>>>get to ENJOY my kids all day long!!…. good and bad so why not choose to focus on the good ?…it is just as easy!

I LOVE that I know them inside out they are wonderful people ~full of so many GOOD things!

For just  these few things I am truly, truly thankful--- when I think about it …and HERE - lies the solution ……simply taking the time to think about it !!!

HE Is SO excited to have everyone sign his cast!

Well he is the first born boy..doing his job.. leading the way:)

He tripped in the yard Thursday afternoon and by Friday afternoon he had one very swollen hand and thumb! SO off to the ER we went again :) The X ray showed he broke his thumb in a funny place right at the bottom, so the huge cast is to hold his arm straight right down to the thumb…for six weeks!

We went for the big waterproof cast so he can still go to swimming lessons and wash his hands and the material  inside dries too !

HE was oh so adorable my big little man !

HE kept his care card in his pocket and showed it to everyone who looked at him like it was a piece of I.D :) HE got so many little smirks .…. he did ALL the talking for any information needed …address- phone number –birthdate -emergency contact ….

I was standing behind him thinking HE  REALLY IS growing up! He is so confident… and by far the most enthusiastic patient- in the world ! ..smiling away to myself -when he leans back to me and whispers “We live in Surrey right MOMMY?”!!!! 

MOMMY ? he never calls me mommy …but I am still his mommy !…awwwwww he melted me!

It always hits me as funny …with him b/c I just LOVE seeing him grow up !  Unlike the little boys were I am sobbing with every birthday.

Ah yes I love this big little man stage~ I just love this boy!
