I am doing a photo shoot for my pretend little sister April 

{ who saved my life and moved in for a year to be our nanny when the twins were born }

She has her own little blessing now who I will post some pictures of later !

It has been a LOONG time since I have done baby pics so the kids were my prep today …..here are my favorites :)

Well Folks~ here you have it ...The Abbey Musicians of 2011

Aren't they lovely?

this just tells it all...

Mike and I cannot read a single musical note between the two of us!

{very frustrating for the kids when they get stuck and there is no one who can help}

None the less... we have decided all the kids shall be given the gift of music....

 and then they can play in a band for us and our friends in our golden years

(they think that idea is hilarious:)

Last night they had their year end recital at a seniors home.....

Out little lady opened up the show

{she had a rose in her hair from our garden}

for roses bugs and hugs.... hair to braid and PINK things!}

She is wearing a dress her Nanu made.... for her BIG SISTER on HER 8th birthday!

I can remember it sooo clearly ...my how time flies!!

Then it was this guy's turn.

He just looks soo broad in this picture! It was one of those moments where I am actually floored at the picture I have taken ...because I see the glimpses of  a big man in there!!

HE ...is working on persevering through his piano years- until he can learn to play the drums:)

Then the lovely lady { in heels } Who is so moved by music .....

and who was SO flustered when she flubbed up her song ....

and yet I was just left thinking she was all the more lovely as a result

{ you were so graceful "bea" xo}

The twins were the in house fans for this night AND oh my-- they did not sit still!

{ I had no idea a couch could be SO loud!}

THE #1 SUMMER PROJECT now top of the list...... work on sitting skills!

And our much loved piano teacher

SHE deserves a  BIG blog ""THANK YOU ""...Let me tell you all....she is one patient teacher ...

The Abbey kids keep her on her toes:) 

OK tick that off the list too.....now it is just organizing & rearranging the entire school room ......and then we can get back to the house projects and then we can rest!!

Yeah it is starting to feel like summer!

AS a first day of Summer celebration, and being done our school year, AND getting our report cards all finished up with my teacher on Monday.... 

{ huge sigh of  relief }

IT IS A Clothes Line!!

And our quilts are hanging out in this

beautiful breeze... drying !

I actually bought all the equipment for us to pull a huge line all the way across the backyard to a tree ...

{all but one piece to hold the two ends of the line together-oops}

Soooo we had to tie them to the half painted pergola as a make-shift line for now .. But I am thrilled !

Is what my Mom used to say when she held up her linen's for me to smell ...and it's true it really does!

I took our very own “Abbey #16 “ to the Langley Events Centre to watch the game.

AHHH it’s June !!! ALREADY

 

 

Where has the time gone !!

 

We have been soooo B. U. S. Y at “ Abbey Acres “!

 

THE  most exhausting and ever SO time consuming project “the suite” was first on the list…….

4 windows and 4 doors taken out and filled in … an entire kitchen assembled and built ….the whole thing re-wired and plumbed in …5 appliances bought and hooked up ……all yellow paint changed ……carpet ripped out laminate put in …..uggggg  …hours and hours I tell you !

Mike is an amazingly hard worker…. BUT we could not have done it with out his best bud Uncle Mark { who is a great  plumber by the way } or Poppy’s extra help, support, and advice .

THANK YOU so much gentle men!!!

THE Kitchen

 

Built-in 9 ft wall unit all in nice and pretty

 

Window taken out …. New front door put in

All yellow paint gone:)

Entire laundry closet built

to hold the washer and dryer

The view from their three huge windows

Of their own drive way and private gate onto the property.

IT was completed in ONE month -on time- for the first- NOTHING short of a miracle .. and has a great tenant living in it now :)

PHEW !!!!

Then it was onto the rest of the house ! AND THAT is a work still in process…. so those pics will have to wait a bit :)

 

OH ..How do I blog about all of the things that have happened here ….. so I never forget !!!

in addition to our little lamb ’ Willie’ we now have three new “ kids “ –literally - the newest member of “ Abbey Acres” are a set of twin pygmies goats born last week…and this little one~ is a favorite:)

A girl and her dog ….. THIS KID would sleep in the barn with the animals if we let her !

He was so thrilled with himself b/c his bike is taller than the twins bikes are !…

{ competition – phff with four boys?  .. never heard of it }

We have also had -much overdue- graduations on to “two wheels”

 

Isn’t my little lady looking sooo big! sob sob….

OH my word….and THIS guy - HE really is big!

Each day  I see more and more glimpses of the young man this “boy”" is changing into…. He is a great kid !
