School is in...

We have switched a ton of our curriculum up this year, so I feel like* I * have been the one doing all the learning for the last two weeks.

At Abbey Academy, Mr.K has me in shock ...driving ....him to a class almost every day !
What started out as gym class once a week, turned into an art class, then guitar lessons, then World War 2 model making ,then....a Lego robotics class....all very cool indeed! I figure we might as well do them all now in Term  1 so we can hunker down for the next Winter Term 2.

AND then...... along with the ever ~reading Miss.E

and the brilliant paleontologist Mr.B

...I  have two very squirmy TRUE kindergartners ...

Mr.M & Mr.O who we refer to as" the professor" and" the rock star" :)

My biggest challenge this year will be getting them to sit still and concentrate long enough to be able to teach them how to read !

For the sake of my sanity, I have been on the hunt for products that allow me to mainstream subjects.
I have had to let go of  my deep rooted Bob Jones security and venture out ...eeeekkkk

While I have been slowly working us into our new chores and school schedule
...we have been busy reviewing with the little guys.

Here is what we have been doing

Reviewing their names
they both did a great job remembering the order
we will add their middle and last names in the mix now

Lots of looking at books, they really want to read like their big brothers can.

We made Chicka Chicka stamp alphabet trees one day from their hand outlines,

Have been reviewing Seasons and  learning about Trees to Welcome in Fall

lots of cutting n gluing with this little days of the week booklet

parts of a tree and what it needs

The  Johnny Apple seed song is a new one ..we read this book

and did this little craft after opening an apple and eating it:)

We are whipping through our preschool Curriculum from Confessions of a Homeschooler just to review the letters and their sounds then we will move on to Raising Rock Stars Kindergarten for the rest of the year.

Here is the letter Dd I remembered to get pictures of them doing it finally...same thing each day for each letter

and our felt calendar, we clap out the months of the year, sing the days of the week song , put up our season, and look out the window for what the weather is
