Here are the TOTS!
Twin A Twin B
{ They will be three in January }
* 8:30 – 9:30 am *
While mom does calendar time with Miss. Grade 1 and Mr..... Preschool the tots have toy room time –alone- in their toy room for about 15 mins… while their biggest brother buddy finishes up his morning chores, then he goes in to have toy room time with them…they L.o.v.e that ….b/c he re- builds everything “playmobile” they break in the first 15 minutes :)
It is complete with a baby gate ….keeps them AND their toys in !
Clean up time! Man they can make a mess in a short amount of time!
Their toy closet with plastic organizers
Awesome toy table with huge storage bins from Pottery Barn Kids.
THE “Happy dance” when the floor is all clean!
It always ends up in a dog pile!
930-945
iiiiiiitttttttt’s Potty Break time - Yep! weeze-is–a potty training !
* 9:45 *
Reading with mom time
I read a book to the four little ones ..the favorite one right now is this Tickle Monster Laughter Kit…by Josie Bissett
Usually I will steer away from anything that is not “real” based on Romans 16:19…..it is a great guideline (especially with older kids ) b/c almost always something in it will end up being yucky.
But I just could not pass this one by b/c he is a loving monster..if it gets too confusing I may need to pass it along.. still trying to decide …
I am sure you can see why they love it so much…are those awesome “ tickle “ gloves or what !
* 10:00 *
Then we do a “tot” activity !
In our very own NEW ” tot ” time room…The new A a is for apple theme from Confessions of a Homeschooler workes perfect with our new apple green chalk board walls! (more pic’s to come soon)
This room holds all their learning stuff they have their own set of work boxes and all their own aged activity stuff ( I L.O.V.E the Sue Patrick work box system ….even for these little guys!)
They are learning their numbers just by putting them onto the chart once we have completed that bucket!
Here is just some of it for this week!
This great yellow linen cupboard with a KEY and a LOCK and break proof glass doors.. is perfect for keeping books safe ! It is from Ikea.
Today was lacing wooden beads with this kit from the Melissa & Doug company.
BUT first we are still practicing sitting “nice”
As you can see in the “before” picture
That’s better ! ….hands on you knees…..
Then we start lacing- one gets a purple string the other gets a green one.
And soon …VOILA!!
Their Master Pieces!
Then we clean up
* 10:30 *
*POTTY TIME ..again *
Then is is LUNCH ! = Shirts off !
( It’s more like two snacks one before nap then the other after these guys are up at 6:15-6:30am so by 10:30 they are hungry!)
Mr.... Funny hamming it up for the camera
* 11:00 *
POTTY TIME…….. AGAIN
THEN THE DAILY VISIT TO THE MAILBOX….on our way upstairs
See how smart we are !
Ohhhh looks like Grammy was here with some love packages! :)
Then they take turns looking for mail
In they come -no mail today
S.l.o.w.l.y closing the door-
( we have been working on this one!)
It is funny with twins you have to practice soooo many things that you wouldn't even think to do with a singleton simply b/c there are two sets of every limb and one or the other always seems to get crunched or stuck!
Hey ! …that’s not your room!
I see you in there!
“hehehhehhehe”
Little bit of wrestling with pillows
Lots of huggin’…
..and falling over while hugging- a particular favorite !
couple rounds of peek –a- boo !
AH ! I see you !
Lots of kisses –songs- and hugs later, they each go into their own room- the door is closed and by………
* 11:30 * Ahhhhhhhhhh~ Peace!
Hopefully for 2.5 hours ?! …time for the “bigs” to get the major chunk of their needing to REALLY concentrate school work done with mom while it is QUIET !
This guy is always on his side :)
This one on his back :)
Shhhhhh! Up goes this sign on the door :)
* 2: 00 *
Wake up ! - potty time …..again
Then snack time !
AND Today is special!!
In theme with Miss. Grade 1 learning about money…. My awesomest big kid made a lemonade stand for her little sister to practice spending her money ! Complete with her very own homemade almond butter cookies that she baked for this last night! ..She is so amazing! xo
Everybody line up!
oh “brothers”!
Littlest Abbey’s go first
YUM! Jubbies!
Cookies!!! ..he can’t take his eyes off it !
But first they had to pay with their money !
counting dimes out…..
10 dimes for one cookie! .. yep! She’s got it!
And now it is free time outside !
Normally I would do another half hour of tot time activities and then big sis would do something with them after that … while I get dinner prepped ( they like to play the piano with her and make forts in the laundry room ) but it was sooo nice out this afternoon they ALLLLLL just went outside to burn off their sugar high from the jube jubes :) I will take advantage of the sun while I can ! …..come fall I will have to really get creative !!!
And so this is where we shall end our “tot” time post ….
Outside!
Today it is a bike fix-it shop
All kinds of wheels are being fixed!
And there is a car polishing station too..
….compliments of big sis with her cloth!
And then onto playing Mommy and babies…
…in the crab pool and “night -night” on the picnic table:)
AHHH ….All in a days work!
* Wednesday * September 8th
This tot wakes up a bit earlier from his nap every day than his twin does …so today he got in on some Preschool bingo dabbing Art from Confessions of a Homeschooler.
what a smile ? that is ….. I think? ….quite impressed with himself ?
Hmmmm……. he is checking out the new Canada map we put up in the school room while he was napping…
I love knowing how to teach them…. being that there have been 4 who have gone before them!
Even at this age…. color sorting everything and anything… saying the vowels- while I am brushing their teeth…..making them count to 10 before they can be excused from the bathtub…doing the phonics poem as a bedtime song…. they love that ! ~I am sure they will be singing O’Canada in no time !
* Thursday * September 9th
Tot time in our “Tot Room”
After we did calendar time ( with our great velcro calendar that I got from the Dollar Store for MR.Grade 4 in Kindergarten)
we played with our magnet bin!
I have one of them sit on either side of me so we can do two activities at a time and then switch them!
Number magnets for the tot on one side…. they put these into the cookie tin, as we say the numbers that they pull out of the bag.
then we put them in order on the back of the tin.
“ MOM look a line ”
The tot on the other side of me uses the top of the cookie tin lid and we put it under the number sheet ( so the magnets hold )
( sheets from Confessions of a Homeschoolers Letter of the Week Curricula )
They put a magnet over each circle.
Then we clean up and say the numbers as we put them back into the baggie.
Today’s book IS….A must have!
Chicka Chicka 123
Mom –pronouncing ??…fourteen it looks like? –HA ..nice one hugh !
Saying our numbers
Craft time !
For today we are making a……
Chicka Chicka 123 APPLE Tree
We traced one of their hands each
Drew our tree trunk
Glued it on (while munching on apples)
Pat –pat- patted it while mom cut out their ” hands”
Then we glued their hands on for the branches!
Then we put on the numbers….and the apples !
AND Voila !…more art for their play room walls!
Book for today…
Activity- over –under- beside- behind
They like trying to get him IN
This little picture has a egg shell over it they took turns taking then off to see what was in the egg..
They love it !
Then we matched our numbers up
This guy lost all his steam at this point?
So he just watched his twin use the magnet wand on his Melissa and Doug puzzle
they pick up the magnets in a line with the wand and then put them into a canister
This guy loved not having to take turns today!
This guy spiked a fever and spent the rest of his day like this…aww
