She is the one who gets to take out the dog first thing in the morning now…her biggest brother was really enjoying that change…until he realized he has to take her out last thing at night :)
Independent READING: She has been begging me to read her big sisters novel Soul Surfer ..so I took pity on her recovery boredom after the flu last week and she has read through chapters 1-6.
Novel Study : These Are My People
She worked on decoding Chinese pictographs
and remembering different facts about two settings in the story.
She sneaks in to listen the the Five In A Row books too still :) …and she is handy to have there for the comprehension discussions when the little guys get stuck.
This week we discussed the Art in this beautiful book …SHE Loves Art so we talked about the shadowing / shading we tried to decide in each picture if it was grey or blue or green or black we saw in the shadows. We also talked about how wonderful I is that God has made us Winter to enjoy …as his art outside our windows.

He loves to devour his big sisters dog books. This week he read the Bella one.
This one was 82 pages long.
He has a new printing book ! Miss Grade 3’s printing changed in leaps and bounds once she started using book A -so I am looking forward to watching his change too.

In Math U See: lessons 19-21 he is motoring through his Primer math book
finding the missing math fact
using the manipulative
has his 10 down pat…still gets stuck on his 2’s though past 20

Doing well with adding 10’s
Used some file folder games with his manipulative to show the numbers
Another day we worked on this file folder game from Around the Kampfire
Putting them in order from least to greatest.
Graphing, tally marks, and weather worksheet from his calendar notebook
Our Five In A Row book this week is….
A nice easy read for recovering from a week of Mom being up with the next batch of sick kids every other day!
We just talked about the different seasons with it now being Winter.
We counted the hidden animals in the forest and talked about how God made all the season for us to enjoy…it is just like he painted us art allllll year long to see outside our window.
States of the week were: New Mexico and Texas. Kids found them on the globe and colored them on the map
Health was a lesson and coloring page (for art ) on Responsibility and …speaking of responsibilities …
At home… we had three birthdays last week ! The twins turned five and spent their day throwing up from the flu :( And we are now the proud parents of a sweet sixteen year old ! )
So this week we have made some changes in the kids chores …. to pass some “zone responsibilities ” on to our new “big enough now” boys.. here is Mr. Kindergarten’s new schedule and chore list with the updates.
He is doing really well with them ! I don’t see any of this as being a area of weakness with this little guy :) He loves to accomplish things!
He has a new Art book coming in the mail from I Can Do All Things….his book that he authored and illustrated is at the Printers!
We didn’t do school Monday recovering from the birthday party extravaganza weekend and catching up on m.a.j.o.r laundry and bleach cleaning from the flu bug…so no character studies this week or memory verses.
